This Repair Service Policy outlines how we handle repairs, customer data, and the steps we take to ensure that your information is secure during the repair process. Our goal is to be fully transparent with our customers and provide peace of mind during your repair experience.
1. Repair Services
We offer repair services for:
- Desktop PCs
- Laptops
- Handheld PCs (e.g., gaming handhelds)
We do not repair mobile phones or any other devices.
2. Data Protection & Confidentiality
- We respect your privacy and ensure that your personal data and device data remain secure.
- We will not access, copy, or store any of your personal data without your explicit consent.
- We will not make any backups of your data unless you provide explicit permission.
- Any data present on your device during repair is handled with the utmost care, and we take steps to avoid accidental loss or leakage.
3. Customer Consent
Before we begin any repair process, we will ask for your consent to proceed. This includes:
- Acknowledging that you understand the repair services we will be providing.
- Confirming that you give us permission to access your device for the repair process, with an assurance that we will not snoop around or store any of your personal data without consent.
4. Data Backup & Privacy Assurance
- If your device contains sensitive data, we highly recommend that you back up your data before sending it for repairs. While we take every precaution to protect your data, we cannot be held responsible for data loss during the repair process.
- Additionally, if any backup is necessary (e.g., during OS migrations, data transfers, or software reinstallations), we will always request your permission before performing any data backup or recovery actions.
5. Data Migration & OS Migration
If your repair involves data migration (e.g., transferring data to a new SSD or migrating your OS), the following process will apply:
- Customer Consent for Data Migration: We will request your explicit consent before performing any data migration, backup, or system restoration actions.
- Data Safety: We take all necessary precautions to ensure your data is transferred securely. However, please note that there is always a risk of data loss during the migration process, and we are not responsible for any such loss.
- Backup Options: If necessary, we will offer backup options and will store your data securely during the migration process. After the migration is complete, all data backups will be securely deleted unless you request otherwise.
- Storage Device Handling: If your repair is not software-related (e.g., hardware issues), we may return your SSD or storage device to you prior to starting the repair and use our own drives for the repair process.
If the repair is software-related, we will need explicit consent to access your storage device, including entering passwords or dealing with any encrypted data to complete the repair.
6. PDPA (Personal Data Protection Act) Compliance
We comply with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) to ensure that your personal information is protected throughout the repair process.
- We do not collect or retain any personal data beyond what is necessary for completing the service.
- Your personal information (name, contact details, device details) will only be used for the purpose of the repair service.
7. Repair Process Transparency
We believe in full transparency and will provide updates on your repair status when necessary. If there are any issues with your device or unexpected complications arise during the repair process, you will be notified promptly.
8. Post-Repair Data Handling
Once your repair is completed, your device will be returned to you with all data intact. If any changes were made (e.g., software reinstalls, repairs involving firmware updates), we will inform you of those changes.
9. Customer Data Backup Option
We understand the importance of your data and offer a secure data backup service for customers. If you wish to have your data backed up securely before any repair work begins, we can store it temporarily on our private server for a specified amount of time.
- All backups will be securely stored, and access to the data will be limited to authorized repair personnel only.
- After the specified time period, your data will be securely deleted from our server unless you request otherwise.
10. Your Rights
You have the right to:
Request the return of your device with all personal data intact after the repair is completed.
Request clarification on any part of the repair process.
Request confirmation on what data has been accessed, if applicable.
